Since my last update, I attended Heather Graham's Writer's for New Orleans Conference... and got evacuated de to Huricane Gustav.

But never fear! Heather and crew will be doing it agian next year and yours truly has already signed on! NOLA is such an incredible town and I can't wait to go back!!!
RT 2009 was held in my home state of Florida in the fun and fabulous Orlando!!! As always, it was a BLAST, but also THE best opportunity in the publishing industry for networking and promotion.
Some of the RT 2009 photos are now posted in the PHOTO GALLERY so feel free to browse the pix for this year and years past as well!
Here's a sampling from RT 2009...
I don't know their names, but WHO CARES!!!?
I DO know they are 2 of the cover models (aka:"Ellora's Cavemen")under contract with my publisher ...
RT Boofair 2009...The Three Musketeers were at it again! The "Alphabetical Order Gods" smiled on us and so Shannon Emmel, Anne Elizabeth & Barry Eilser were seated together and of course, we had a GREAT time!
The fourth Musketeer on our row was M. A Ellis (Love you, Mary Ann!) She fit right in with our insanity and we had great time! (And I made a GREAT new friend!)
As always, Heather Graham's annual "Vampire's Ball" was one of the highlights of the convention. Dressed for the occasion, author, Marilyn Campbell, Dennis Pozzessere, and me! (Shannon Emmel)
For all the scoop on the RT Convention, check out the Photo Gallery for more pix (hard evidence that EVERONE had a good time!)
Touch Me Not by Shannon Emmel Available through The Lotus Circle.
ABOUT THE LOTUS CIRCLE...TLC books do not require romance as a main ingredient, but rather use the charater's association with 'The Lotus Circle' as the common thread throughout the fiction line. In fact, the initial TLC offerings range from mainstream to spritual journeys to mystery to international intrigue and incorporate strong female protagonists who have one or more psychic/metaphysical talents that are essential to the story-- Tarot Readers, Astrologers, Healers and Psychic Mediums using a variety of methods are just a few examples of what you might expect in a TLC book.
What TLC does NOT incorporate is supernatural or magical abilities. There are no witches or vampires or werewolves or faeries. Ghosts and other 'spirits' that can communicate with a heroine who is a psychic medium are allowed, however that is pretty much the limit of the 'paranormal' elements of the TLC line.
Touch Me Not is the story of one of the five women at the heart of 'The Lotus Circle' whose combined talents are required to resurrect the ancient, secret society that once served all of mankind. Sadira's journey takes her on a winding path to her higher-self, but teaches her the lessons she needs in order to finally embrace her destiny. Her story is also the only one that takes place BEFORE the five women are brought together.
In fact, Sadira's story ends as The Lotus Circle begins. Which is NOT to say that we've seen the last of her. She and the other founders of The Lotus Circle will be close at hand, and you never know when or where fate will guide them.
What you can be certain of is that Sadira and the sisters of The Lotus Circle will ALWAYS turn up when they're needed the most!!

"Shannon Emmel has created a wonderful story of one woman’s journey from acknowledgement of her own powers to acceptance of its role in her life. Monty’s full realization that her friends and being true to herself far outweigh the opinions of others is her greatest task in this story. I thoroughly enjoyed the sense of wonder and awe the main character experienced when she opened her eyes to see the spiritual at work in her own life and in the world around her. I also enjoyed seeing her mind open to her talents, talents that far surpass simple aura readings. Touch Me Not is a fabulously engaging, thought provoking and entertaining read."

4-HEART REVIEW FROM
Night Owl Romance!
Savvy talk-show host Montgomery Jones has it all! Fame, fortune and fabulous friends. With this year’s Emmy win almost guaranteed and a business empire extending far beyond her television show, she thinks she can finally put the painful lessons of her childhood—of Sadira Montgomery’s childhood—behind her. But Fate thinks she still has a lot to learn. Something ismissing in her life…a willingness to accept her healing gifts and fulfill her true destiny as a descendant of The Lotus Circle.
Dr. Luke White Eagle’s Native American roots run deep and healers run in his family, so no one understands heritage, or the burden of certain talents, better than he does. He can help Sadira reconcile her past and embrace her future. What he can’t do is write a prescription for trust.
The Wheel of Fate is in motion and soon events will force Sadira to either accept the gifts she has long denied, or bring unbearable pain and suffering to those she loves.
South Florida resident, Shannon Emmel, has been an avid reader since childhood. She began writing in college at the suggestion of her literature professor, and was published soon after.
She became intrigued with psychic phenomena and other metaphysical topics more than twenty years ago, when she began trying to understand her own psychic gifts. Although she receives messages in other ways, her tools of choice are Runes and The Tarot.
Over the years, Shannon has met and worked with many of her Angels, Guides and Spirits and considers herself truly blessed to have among her constant guardians an Archangel, a Dragon and a ‘parking angel’ named Clarissa!
Shannon loves to hear from her fans so please, send a note directly to her at writetome@shannonemmel.com
